Building a Brand
Amanda, owner and founder of Barn Owl Bakery, partnered with us to develop and launch a website for her growing bakery business.
Amanda came to us with a logo and a wonderful library of pictures of her baked goods, but we had to help expand and build her brand.
The Color Palette
Using the Barn Owl Bakery logo as our inspiration, we began to develop a color palette. We pulled a vibrant blue from their logo along with a rich jade green to act as the primary colors.
A calm, cool gray was used to round out their color palette, allowing for eye catching color harmony and visual contrast.
Brand Assets & Fonts
We built out brand assets for Barn Owl after settling on their color palette. Their colors were used to build website wallpaper elements, giving a playful nod to bakery wraps and packaging.
For headlines throughout their website, we chose Prata, an elegant and modern serif font.
For their body copy, Roboto was chosen. This is a friendly and approachable sans serif font that works well with the friendly, hand-crafted nature of Barn Owl Bakery.

The Strategy for Growth
Amanda emphasized that custom orders are a big part of her brand’s identity. Before working with us, she was taking orders via phone or email, and this lead to an inefficient use of her time and resources.
We aimed to solve this with our strategy incorporating:
- A simple and intuitive online ordering system
- Multiple call-to-action buttons to drive orders
- Pages to highlight their custom baked goods
